Letters to (Name Redacted)

*The Sky Is Dampening*

Dear (Name Redacted)

The scars we inflicted on my forearm still resemble midnight choking on supernovas. All those morning afters we spent throwing rust down each other’s throats still have me coughing up death threats to everyone I know. But I’m getting better: the sky is dampening and my letters are no longer punctuated by a knife through an eagle’s heart. Every tiny step is a cause for celebration which is why I’m tap-dancing on the severed spine of the love child we never had. I hope you’re doing well.

Love,
Getting Over It
