I know how it feels; seeing others living the life that you envisioned for yourself. How people’s dreams fall in their laps while you slog and slog and still are nowhere near realizing your potential. How you see posts after posts of everyone having one hell of a time, while you sit at home on a Friday, waiting to lose yourself in sleep.

I get it. It’s so tough, but that’s why you have to go through it.
I know it all seems unfair, the fact that nothing is ever easy for you. But trust me, neither is it for the people whose lives you envy. They have their own demons, their own insecurities, their own fears.
Let me assure you, they too have their own list of people who make them lust for a life just as glorious as theirs.
It’s a never-ending feeling, you know, pitying yourself for the unfairness of it all. And it will never really go away till you keep imagining a perfect life for others and an empty one for yourself.
You have no idea how some of the people who you think have it all, would trade their lives with yours in a heartbeat.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that you don’t have a right to feel the way that you do. You absolutely do. But for how long are you planning to hold onto this feeling; measuring your life on the yardstick of others’ fortunes?
I want you to believe me, because every few days, some random person doesn’t shy away from pointing out how perfect my life is and how they wish they could have a life as happening as mine.
This is your cue, my people.
That is where you laugh.
Because the people who know me know how this is a farce.
I guess what I am trying to say is, the concept of being lucky and unlucky is just that- a concept. So, stop feeling sorry for yourself, get up and live. Don’t waste your present in being envious of what life has to offer to others. For what it’s worth, you have no way of knowing how brilliant your future could be. When the possibilities are immense, why limit yourself to only misgivings? Give happiness a chance too.
